Far Rock resident shot during robbery: Brown

FAR ROCKAWAY — A home invasion Jan. 25 ended with no valuables missing, but a resident took a bullet in the buttocks, according to documents from the Queens district attorney’s office.

At about 1:40 p.m., two Far Rockaway residents, Anthony Maldonado, 17, of 192 Beach 27th St., and Christopher McQueen, of 284 Beach 15th St., entered a home on Beach 13th Street while one of the occupants was in the bathroom, the DA said.

When the man came out of the bathroom, he noticed Maldonado and McQueen, along with two others, in his living room. Maldonado was holding a pistol and, along with the others, began to root around the man’s apartment, according to the DA’s office.

The man lunged at Maldonado and a struggle for the gun ensued.

Eventually, another man from the house joined in the scuffle and was shot in the buttocks as Maldonado squeezed off a round, the DA said.

The two teenagers, along with two others, fled the house, with the man who was not shot following them.

One of the teenagers fired off another round, and Maldonado and McQueen were eventually arrested and charged with assault, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the DA.
