The American Legion Garity Post in Ridgewood held its annual Commander’s Dinner on Saturday

Sr. Dorothea Jurkowski Of St. Stanislaus Catholic Academy addresses residents who flocked to Msgr. McGorlick Park’s USS Monitor monument in Greenpoint last Monday, Jan. 30 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the launch of the Civil War era battleship, which was built in the neighborhood.
