Sedan Smashes Into Home’s Fence

A sedan traveling along Metropolitan Avenue on Sunday morning, Feb. 12, lost control and crashed into a fence in front of a home on the Maspeth/Ridgewood border, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the accident occurred at around 7:40 a.m. at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and 55th Street. Members of Engine Co. 271, Ladder Co. 140, the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The driver of the sedan was not injured, and FDNY sources reported that no one was inside the residence at the time of the accident.
