Donation Celebrates Cyprus Culture

The Cyprus Federation of America donated copies of the book Cyprus: Crossroads to Civilzation for each of the 62 branches of the Queens Borough Public Library during a ceremony at the Steinway branch in Astoria last Thursday, Mar. 8. As shown, Queens Library President and CEO Thomas W. Galante was on hand to accept the donated books. Also shown during the ceremony are Loren Amor, representing Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas; Irene Stathos of State Sen. Michael Gianaris’ office; Koula Sophianou, consul general of the Republic of Cyprus; Costas Constantinides, Despina Axiotakis and Peter Papanicolaou of the Cyprus Federation of America; Diana Chapin, executive director of the Queens Library Foundation; and members of the Cyprus Federation’s executive board.
