Robbers Wanted For Woodhaven Robbery

Two gun-toting bandits are wanted by police for invading a Woodhaven home and removing assorted property last Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 29, it was reported.

Law enforcement sources said the incident took place at around 2 p.m. at a residence located on 78th Street near 88th Avenue.

Police described one of the two suspects as a Hispanic male in his 40s standing at 5’8″-tall; the other perpetrator was described as an African-American female in her 20s standing at 5’5″-tall and weighing about 130 lbs.

Reportedly, the duo forced their way inside of the home and, with one of the suspects brandishing a black firearm, confronted a female resident.

After taking various property from the location, the invaders fled from the scene. According to eyewitness accounts, the male crook ran westbound on 88th Avenue, while the female perpetrator fled eastbound on 88th Avenue.

Members of the 102nd Precinct responded to the scene. The female resident was not injured.

The 102nd Precinct Detective Squad is continuing its investigation, police said.

Rich. Hill burglar busted

Hours before the robbery, police reportedly picked up a 22-year-old man who allegedly broke into a Richmond Hill home in an unrelated incident.

The alleged burglar, whose identity was withheld by police, is a resident of 165th Street in Jamaica.

Members of the 102nd Precinct responded to a home on 91st Avenue near 118th Street at around noon last Wednesday after receiving a 911 call regarding a burglary.

During a search of the surrounding area, authorities said, the burglary suspect was found by 102nd Precinct officers hiding behind a tow truck parked along 117th Street. Several items stolen from the home-including money and jewelry-were reportedly found in his possession.
