Teen Charged With Murder, More

An Astoria teenager has been arrested and charged with the Sunday, Mar. 25 murder of a local resident in an area housing development.

The shooting reportedly occurred at about 1:09 p.m. last Sunday at the Astoria Houses development, at Astoria Boulevard and 8th Street, when officers from the 114th Precinct and Police Service Area 9 responded to a 911 call of an assault in one of then buildings.

Upon arrival, officers found 23- year-old Tysheen Davis, a resident of the Astoria Houses, with a gunshot wound to the face in the building’s lobby. Emergency services personnel pronounced Davis dead at the scene.

The next day, officers arrested 19- year-old Lacorey Johnson, who reportedly lives in the same building.

He has been charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with evidence and several other charges, according to the New York State Unified Court System website.

Acording to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, Johnson was remanded without bail. His next court date is Apr. 10.
