Bipartisan Jobs Bill Is Passed

Rep.: It Reduces Small Biz Costs

Rep. Bob Turner announced that the House of Representatives passed the final version of H.R. 3606-the Jumpstart Our Business Startup (JOBS) Act, which was recently amended by the Senate-in bipartisan fashion last Tuesday, Mar. 27.

“The biggest obstacles for an entrepreneur when starting and growing a business are government regulations and access to capital. I am proud to have been part of a bipartisan effort to address both of those issues,” Turner said. “The JOBS Act will create new, innovative ways for business owners to find investors, and will help get government out of their way. I commend my colleagues in both the House and Senate for coming together in order to help America’s small businesses and the American economy. This is a good piece of legislation that will help our economy. I look forward to the president immediately signing this bill into law so those businesses can work on expanding and creating jobs.”

The JOBS Act is a compilation of bipartisan legislative measures geared towards providing small businesses and start ups with the opportunities necessary to start and build their companies.

The bill will reduce the costs of going public, allow small businesses to advertise to potential investors, enable businesses to utilize investments from crowd funding activities, and will reduce regulations that hamper a company’s ability to grow and create jobs.

The act passed the House with a vote of 380-41 and was subsequently sent to President Obama for his signature.
