Pistol-Packing Perp Opens Fire On Teen

The unidentified gunman who shot and injured a 15-yearold male on a Ridgewood street early on Sunday morning, Apr. 22, remains at large as of press time, police reported.

Law enforcement sources said the victim was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the left side of his abdomen that was not considered to be life-threatening.

Authorities said the shooting occurred at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning in front of a location at the corner of Wyckoff Avenue and Hancock Street.

Reportedly, the victim was confronted by the gunman; the circumstances surrounding the events leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.

After firing the shot which struck the teenager, police said, the gunman fled in an unknown direction.

Members of the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The victim was brought by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment.

Despite a search by various police units of the surrounding area for the suspected shooter, authorities noted, no immediate arrests were made.

The case has been presented to the 104th Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.
