Gun-Toting Crooks Grabbed Watches
Police are asking the public’s assistance in tracking down three armed robbers who held up a Forest Hills jewelry store last month.
The NYPD released last Thursday, Apr. 5, surveillance camera images of the suspects, each of whom were described by authorities as African-American males in their 20s.
Law enforcement sources said the heist took place at around 12:40 p.m. on Mar. 31 at Kinara Jewelers, located at 72-03 Austin St.
According to police, one of the bandits held the door while simulating a weapon, while a second suspect stood by the door as a third bandit entered the location.
Once inside, police said, the third robber broke the showcase with a hammer and stole 12 watches. After obtaining the timepieces, authorities noted, the crooks fled from the location; they were last observed entering a blue Chrysler 300 sedan that sped away in an unknown direction.
Members of the 112th Precinct responded to the incident; there were no reported injuries.
One of the perpetrators reportedly stands at 5’10”-tall, while the other crooks are each 5’8-tall.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the 112th Precinct Detective Squad, police said.
