Normal Transit For Good Fri., Passover

MTA New York City Transit will operate on a regular weekday schedule throughout Friday, Apr. 6, which is both Good Friday and the start of Passover. However, there will be no limited-stop service along the Q6, Q21, Q25 and Q65 bus routes. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Extra LIRR Service For Holiday Getaway

Along with its normal weekday schedule, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will provide nine additional eastbound trains from Penn Station Friday afternoon for those leaving work early to observe Good Friday or Passover.

The additional trains will depart Penn Station between 2:08 and 3:48 p.m., including the following trains:

– a 2:08 p.m. train on the Port Jefferson branch stopping at Jamaica and Mineola, then making all stops to Huntington;

– a 2:29 p.m. train on the Port Jefferson branch stopping at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica and New Hyde Park, then making all stops to Huntington;

– a 3 p.m. train on the Babylon branch stopping at Jamaica and Rockville Centre, then making all stops to Babylon;

– trains at 3:18 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. on the Port Washington branch stopping at Woodside and Flushing-Main Street, then making all stops to either Port Washington (the 3:18 p.m. train) or Great Neck (the 3:40 p.m. train); and

– a 3:24 p.m. train on the Port Jefferson branch stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, Westbury and Hicksville.

Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Apr. 4. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Longer Waits For Weekend M Shuttle

Weekend M shuttle trains will run every 24 minutes between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue from 4 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 7, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 8. Overnight M train service will run every 20 minutes. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Weekday Express On J Line In Brooklyn

Jamaica Center-bound J trains will operate express service between Myrtle Avenue and Broadway Junction on Thursday, Apr. 5, Friday, Apr. 6, and Wednesday, Apr. 10, through Friday, Apr. 13, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound J train.

During this period, all J trains will board at Broadway Junction from the Manhattan-bound platform.

Additionally, Jamaica Centerbound J trains will skip the Hewes Street, Lorimer Street and Flushing Avenue stations this weekend, from 4 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 7, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 8.

For service to these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Marcy Avenue (with an unlimited ride MetroCard only) or Essex Street, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound J train.

It was also noted that customers may use the B46 bus to Myrtle Avenue for J and M service.

Court Square Station Reopened On 7 Line

Service to the Court Square station on the 7 line was restored as of 5 a.m. Monday, Apr. 2, following an extensive a capital improvement project. Customers who stop at the station can now transfer to the E, G or M trains.

Stations Skipped On E, F Lines In Queens

Manhattan-bound E and F trains will skip the Van Wyck Boulevard station on Friday, Apr. 6, from 12:01 until 5 a.m.; and at all times beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 7, and continuing until 5 a.m. Monday, Apr. 16.

During this period, Manhattanbound F trains will also skip the 75th Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard stations.

For service to these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Union Turnpike or Jamaica- Van Wyck-or the F train to Union Turnpike or Parsons Boulevard-and then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F train.

No Late Night Local On E Train In Qns.

Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run express service between Roosevelt Avenue and 71st-Continental Avenues late nights on Friday, Apr. 6, and Tuesday, Apr. 10, through Friday, Apr. 13, from 12:30 until 5 a.m.

For service to the Elmhurst Avenue, Grand Avenue, Woodhaven Boulevard, 63rd Drive and 67th Avenue stations, take the E train to 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train.

Stops Skipped On N Train Weekdays

Astoria-bound N trains will skip the 39th Avenue, 36th Avenue, Broadway and 30th Avenue stations on Monday, Apr. 9, through Friday, Apr. 13, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. During this period, there will be no Q train service between 57th Street- Seventh Avenue in Manhattan and Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard.

For service to the skipped stations in Queens, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan bound N train. For service from these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train.
