A Jackson Heights apartment house was damaged on Monday afternoon, Apr. 9, after a large tree tipped over and slammed into the building, city officials reported. Sources with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) stated that the incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. at the apartment house located on 34th Avenue near 84th Street. Responding to the scene were Ladder companies 136 and 154, Battalion 46, the 115th Precinct and EMS units. No injuries were reported. Once firefighters completed removal of the tree, workers immediately began making repairs to the structure, according to OEM. (photos: Allen Epstein)
