The driver of a taxi cab was hospitalized after a fire broke out in his vehicle near Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village last Tuesday morning, May 15, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the car fire ignited at around 10 a.m. as the taxi was parked near the corner of Juniper Boulevard North and 75th Place. Members of Engine Co. 319, Ladder Co. 136, the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor smoke inhalation, FDNY sources said.
