JAMAICA — A random stop by two NYPD officers ended with a substantial drug bust Sunday and an irresponsible father in cuffs.

At about 2 p.m., two officers were walking near the corner of Jamaica Avenue and 165th Street when they motioned for a 2007 Honda Accord with excessively dark tinted windows to pull over, the NYPD said.

Police Officers Vincent Siraco and Michael Sardone smelled marijuana and asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, police said.

Inside, the duo observed not only a gravity knife and alleged bags of crack cocaine and marijuana, but also a 13-year-old boy, the NYPD said.

In the trunk, the officers discovered 2 kilograms of cocaine.

Silvestre Mahon, 34, of Connecticut, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 years old, unlawful possession of marijuana and improper window tinting.

The boy was Mahon’s son, who was released into the custody of his mother.
