A native of Gottschee, Yugoslavia, he was the devoted brother of Emma Stalzer, Stephanie Morscher, Maria Doren and Robert Mantel and loving great-uncle of Ronald Stalzer, Ed Stalzer, John Stalzer, Stefanie Roemer, Richard Morscher, Andrew Doren and Kristen Mantel.
