The Juniper Juniors, an offshoot of the Juniper Park Civic Association, removed debris and repainted the overpass on 57th Avenue near 74th Street on the Maspeth/Elmhurst border during their cleanup last Saturday, May 5. As noted, the project was the first of several funded through a $1,000 “Love My Block Grant” the JPCA received from the Citizens Committee of New York City. Among those who joined Juniper Junior and civic association members for the cleanup were Juniper Juniors director Len Santoro (at far right), Joe Eastman of the Citizens Committee of New York City (at far left) and Lydon Sleeper, chief of staff to City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley (second from left).
