Several stores were scorched by flames during a one-alarm fire that broke out at the corner of Justice Avenue and Broadway last Thursday afternoon, June 7, it was reported. Responding to the scene of the blaze, which ignited at around 12:35 p.m., were (in numerical order) Engine companies 287, 289, 292 and 324; Ladder companies 136, 138 and 163; Rescue 4 and Battalions 46 and 49-under the direction of Division 14-along with EMS units. No injuries were reported. Fire Department sources said one hose line was used to bring the fire under control.
