Rear-End Collision Claims Brooklyn Man

Two motorcyclists from Brooklyn were killed after their rides collided at a Bushwick intersection early last Friday morning, June 22, police reported.

Two motorcyclists from Brooklyn were killed in an accident at the corner of Halsey Street and Wilson Avenue in Bushwick last Friday morning, June 22.

Law enforcement sources identified the victims as 22-year-old Philip Baldwin of East 80th Street in Canarsie and 45-year-old Douglas Butler of Park Place in Brownsville.

Reportedly, the accident occurred at around 3:20 a.m. last Friday at the corner of Halsey Street and Wilson Avenue.

According to information obtained by police, Baldwin was traveling eastbound on Halsey Street on his motorcycle when he came to a stop at a red light at the intersection.

As he did so, authorities noted, he was struck from behind by a motorcycle operated by Butler.

Members of the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Baldwin was transported by paramedics to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center while Butler was taken by EMS units to Kings County Medical Center; both were pronounced dead on arrival.

The case was presented to the NYPD Accident Investigation Squad for a further inquiry, police said.
