Six people were injured after being struck by an out-of-control vehicle that jumped the curb and struck a Maspeth restaurant last Saturday night, June 23, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the accident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Grand Avenue and 72nd Street, where Connolly’s Corner resturant is located. Among the units that responded to the scene were Squad Co. 288, Engine Co. 287, Ladder companies 136 and 140, Rescue 4, Battalion 46, the 104th Precinct and EMS units. The victims were removed by paramedics to local hospitals for treatment of injuries which were not life-threatening. (photos: Joseph Epstein)
