A powerful thunderstorm that blew through Queens last Wednesday afternoon, July 18, caused numerous tree limbs to fall on 75th Street near Myrtle Avenue in Glendale. No injuries were reported, but several parked vehicles on the block were damaged by the fallen branches. After fallen trees had blocked the roadway, resident Hank Kraker told the Times Newsweekly that neighbors on the block worked to remove some of the branches and limbs away from the street. Crews from the Parks Department’s Forestry Division were on the block the next day to remove the fallen limbs.
