Big Band Concert In H. Beach Tonight

Residents will be swinging to the beat of the Big Band era during the annual Arnie Mig Swing Concert at St. Helen’s Church in Howard Beach scheduled to take place, rain or shine, tonight, Thursday, Aug. 9. Co-sponsored by State Sen. Joseph Addabbo, Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder and the law offices of Brady and Marshak, the concert will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the parking lot of the church, located at the corner of 84th Street and 157th Avenue. In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be held in the adjacent school auditorium. Admission is free. Frank Pedulla will lead The Music Staff Swing Orchestra in the concert honoring Arnie Mig, who for many years held free big band concerts in the community.
