Flames and dense black smoke shot out of a twostory Ridgewood home during a one-alarm fire last Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 15, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the blaze ignited at around 1:45 p.m. at a residence located in the vicinity of 68th Road and 60th Street. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 233, 206, 222, 319, 286 and 271; Ladder companies 174, 111, 124 and 135; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 4 and Battalions 35 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries. Two hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
