Rgmvm Twins Take the Title

Hurler Throws Complete Game For Qns. Alliance Crown

On Aug. 26, a single game would be played at Joseph Austin Playground in Jamaica for the Queens Alliance 18U championship between the RGMVM Twins and the Rich- Haven Mets.

The RGMVM Twins

This would be the last time these college-bound Twins would be playing together; they have been a team since they were eight years old.

Manager Anthony Rosario called upon pitcher and captain Larry Lebeau for one last stand.

This contest would start off the Mets scoring in the first run in the top of the first inning off a passed ball by the catcher.

The score would stay the same until the bottom of the second because the short handed Twins, only fielding eight would see a car pull up with the veteran Ryan Klaar, making nine players. Batting second that inning, Klaar would lead off with a single which would start a four-run Twins rally with hits from Kenneth Sumsky, Andrew Crimmins, Tyler Rosario, Lebeau, Gio Trocchia and RJ Klein.

With a 4-1 lead, the Twins would never look back. Lebeau would turn in a stellar performance, with a 98- pitch, seven-strikeout complete game. Lebeau would post a 1.84 ERA and Rosario a 1.42 ERA through the post-season.

Sixteen graduating Twins will be attending 12 different colleges this fall and playing Division II and II baseball.
