Armed Pair Robs Teen In Rich. Hill

Trying to make a delivery to a Richmond Hill home proved costly for a 15-year-old male who was robbed at gunpoint by two armed thieves on bicycles on Monday night, Sept. 3, according to police.

The suspects in the caper, described by authorities as African- American males, remain at large as of press time.

Law enforcement sources said the trouble began just before 8:45 p.m. Monday night in front of a location on 109th Street near 107th Avenue.

Reportedly, the 15-year-old teenager arrived at the home while making a food delivery when he was approached by the two bike-riding bandits.

Police said the crooks got off their rides, displayed firearms and ordered the youngster to lie down on the ground. Once he complied with their demands, authorities said, the pair removed his cell phone and cash.

The suspects then got back on their bicycles and pedaled away from the scene northbound on 109th Street.

Members of the 106th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The teenager was not injured.

Various police units canvassed the surrounding area for the suspects involved in the theft. Despite their efforts, authorities said, no immediate arrests were made.

The case was presented to the 106th Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.
