Weekend J Trains Closed This Weekend

J train service is scheduled to be suspended between Crescent Street and Jamaica Center this weekend from 4 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.

During these periods, J trains will continue to operate between Crescent Street and Chambers Street in Manhattan.

Shuttle buses will provide alternate service to the J train between Crescent Street and 121st Street and will connect to the Jamaica-Van Wyck station for E train service to Jamaica Center.

The shuttle buses will stop at J train stations as follows:

– Crescent Street-on Fulton Street at Crescent Street;

– Cypress Hills-at the B13 bus stop on Jamaica Avenue at Hemlock Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or on Crescent Street at Jamaica Avenue (to Crescent Street station);

– 75th Street-Elderts Lane-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 75th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or Dexter Court (to Crescent Street);

– 85th Street-Forest Parkway-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 85th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or at 86th Street (to Crescent Street);

– Woodhaven Boulevard-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard;

– 104th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 104th Street;

– 111th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 111th Street;

– 121st Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 121st Street; and

– Jamaica-Van Wyck-on the Van Wyck Expressway service road at 89th Avenue.

Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Sept. 26. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

‘Fastrack’ Fix Affects F, M Service In Qns.

The MTA’s “Fastrack” maintenance program will result in the shutdown of the B, D, F and M service in Manhattan during late nights on Thursday, Sept. 27, through Friday, Sept. 28, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. and also cause service disruptions on the F and M lines in Queens.

M train service between 71st-Continental Avenues and Myrtle Avenue- Broadway will end early on late nights Monday through Thursday. The last Forest Hills-bound M train will depart Myrtle Avenue-Broadway at 9:52 p.m., and the last Middle Villagebound M train will depart 71st-Continental Avenues at 9:33 p.m.

In its place, the E train will operate local service between 71st-Continental Avenues and Queens Plaza until midnight.

Additionally, F trains will run on the F line between Roosevelt Avenue and West Fourth Street during the Fastrack period. As a result, there will be no F train service to the 21st Street- Queensbridge or Roosevelt Island stations.

Instead, the Q train will be extended from its 57th Street terminus to the 21st Street-Queensbridge station late nights on Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

During the service change, there will be no B, D, F or M service available at the 14th Street, 23rd Street, 34th Street-Herald Square, 42nd Street-Bryant Park, 47th-50th Streets and 57th Street stations.

Stations Skipped On

7 Line This Weekend

Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street and 82nd Street stations on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29-30, from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.

For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or 74th Street, then transfer to a Flushing bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattanbound 7 train.

No Service To, From Manhattan On N Line

There will be no N train service between Queensboro Plaza and Lexington

Avenue-59th Street this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1.

During this period, N trains will operate in two sections-between Ditmars Boulevard and Queensboro Plaza and bewteen Lexington Avenue-59th Street and Stillwell Avenue.

To travel between Queens and Manhattan, riders are advised to transfer to the 7 train at either the Queensboro Plaza or the Times Square-42nd Street stations.

Service Disruptions In The Rockaways

A train service will be suspended between Howard Beach and Mott Avenue- and Rockaway Park shuttle service will be closed between Broad Channel and Beach 90th Street-this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday night, Sept. 28, until 4:45 a.m. Monday morning, Oct. 1.

During this period, A train service will operate between Howard Beach or Lefferts Boulevard and 207th Street, while the Rockaway Park Shuttle will run between Beach 116th Street and Mott Avenue, making stops at Beach 105th Street, Beach 98th Street, Beach 90th Street, Beach 67th Street, Beach 60th Street, Beach 44th Street, Beach 36th Street and Beach 25th Street.

Shuttle buses will replace A train service between Howard Beach and Mott Avenue and a Rockaway Park Shuttle bus will run between Howard Beach and Beach 116th Street, making a stop along the way at Broad Channel.

Riders can transfer between the shuttle buses and the A train at Howard Beach and the Rockaway Park Shuttle at Beach 116th Street or Mott Avenue.

Overnight Express On E Line In Queens

Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run express service between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Avenue late nights on Tuesday, Oct. 2, through Friday, Oct. 5, from 12:30 until 5 a.m.

For service to the 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Boulevard and 65th Street stations, take the E train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Queens Plaza, then transfer to a Jamaica Centerbound E train.

Weekend Switch For The R Train

All R trains will skip the Fifth Avenue 59th Street, Lexington Avenue- 59th Street and Queens Plaza stations in both directions throughout this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30.

During this period, R trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and 57th Street-Seventh Avenue. These trains will stop at the Lexington Avenue-63rd Street, Roosevelt Island and 21st Street-Queensbridge stations.

For service to the Queens Plaza station, transfer to the E train at Roosevelt Avenue or Times Square-42nd Street.

Knick. Ave M Stop Closed For Repairs

The Knickerbocker Avenue station on the M line is closed at all times until early 2013 as the MTA conducts repairs.

Riders are advised to use the nearby Central Avenue and Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues stations as alternates. The B54 bus provides connecting service between Knickerbocker Avenue and the two stations.

During overnight hours, shuttle buses will provide additional service along the B54 route between Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues and Myrtle Avenue- Broadway, stopping at the Knickerbocker Avenue and Central Avenue stations.
