Flames ripped through the first floor of a Cypress Hills apartment house during a one-alarm fire last Wednesday night, Oct. 17, FDNY sources said. Reportedly, the blaze ignited at around 7 p.m. on Jamaica Avenue near Logan Street. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 236, 332, 293 and 233; Ladder companies 176, 135 and 107; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 2 and Battalions 39 and 44-under the direction of Division 15-along with the 75th Precinct and EMS units. No injuries were reported. Two hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
