Cops, Community Leaders Honored by 110 Pct.

P.O. Michael Grimm (center in top photo, holding a plaque donated by the Times Newsweekly) was honored as the 110th Precinct’s Cop of The Month on Monday, Oct. 15 at the council’s meeting at the Flanders Field VFW Post in Corona. Grimm was recognized for his work with the Anti-Crime Team in arresting several males, including one carrying a fully-loaded firearm, in the Lefrak City area. A further investigation led Grimm to two stolen iPads and another arrest related to that robbery. He is flanked by Capt. Gregory Santana, the precinct’s executive officer, and by Council President Evelyn DeCoursey. As shown in the bottom photo, the Council also recognized several local firms for their service to the community. Paul Tritschler, Joshua Payero and Sarah May of Target (from left) are shown with Matt Symons, the manager of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park; Captain Santana, David Galst of NY Carousel Entertainment and Council President DeCoursey.
