PATRICIAA. MOAKLEY died on
Monday, October 15, at the age of
79. Pat lived most of her life in New
York City until moving to Phoenix in
2005 with her husband, George, who
died on August 27. She is survived
by her twin daughters Laura and
Linda, her son George, her daughter
Patricia, 12 grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter. Born Patricipa
Siedentopf, she grew up working in
her parents’ florist shop and greenhouses in Queens. She managed her
husband’s flag and clothes pole business (Charles Knight Poles) before
joining him in retirement in
PHoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made
to the Hospice of the Valley,
www.hov.org.

BEVERLY RITA DRYSDALE
BORCHERDING died on Saturday,
October 20, at Dauterive Hospital in
Louisiana at the age of 85. She was
born on November 8, 1926 in Brisbane, Australia and lived most of her
life in Glendale, where she raised her
family. In 1994, she moved to New
Iberia, La. and was a parishioner of
St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Beverly
was a devoted and loving mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother
and leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all who
knew and loved her.
Survivors include her six children, Rev. Martin C. Borcherding of
New Iberia, Barbara Jesset and husband Thomas of Abbeville, Stephen
Borcherding of Elmont, L.I., Christine Blome and husband Lothar of
Abbeville, James Borcherding of
New Iberia and Therese O’Connor
and husband Christopher of Whitestone; six grandchildren, Robert Jesset and wife Jennifer, Jeffrey
Borcherding and wife Mary, Brian
Blome, Brittany Aucoin and husband
Jared, Kaitlyn O’Connor and Kevin
O’Connor; and two great-grandchildren, Alissa and Gavin Aucoin.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Christian Lawrence
Borcherding, her parents, Edward
and Myrtle Melvin Drysdale, and
brothers Tom and Kevin Drysdale.
A Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated on Tuesday, October 23,
at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, New
Iberia, followed by interment at Holy
Family Cemetery, New Iberia, under
the direction of Evangeline Funeral

NICHOLAS VIRGADAMO of
Ridgewood died on Monday, October 15, at the age of 69. A native of
the U.S., he was the beloved husband
of Susan, devoted father of Lee and
John and dear brother of Virginia,
Joanne and Annette. He is also survived by grandsons Connor and
Evan. He was an active member of
the Knights of Columbus. AMass of

ANTHONY ARATO died on Friday, October 19, at the age of 78. He
was the beloved husband of
Domenica Arato, loving father of
Sara Martinello and Mina Sheck, father in-law of Liberato and David,
cherished grandfather of Maria,
Aniello andAlbertAnthony and dear
brother of Michael Arato, Louise
Avellino and the late Mary Doyle.
He was also a U.S. Army veteran. A
Mass of Christian Burial was offered

MADELINE E. BROPHY, formerly of Glendale, died on Sunday,
October 21. She was the loving wife
of Robert H. Brophy Jr., beloved
mother of Robert H. III and Helene,
James J. and Eileen, Raymond T.,
John F. Thomas P. and Alicia, David
G. and Lori, Mary D. and Wendell
Forster and Steven D. and Christine
and dear sister of Anne Kennedy. She
was also the devoted grandmother of
17 and great-grandmother of eight.
She also taught at St. Pancras School
in Glendale for 25 years. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be offered this
morning, Thursday, October 25, at
9:30 a.m. at St. Pancras Church,
Glendale, followed by interment at
Calverton National Cemetery,
Calverton, L.I., under the direction of

age of 88. A native of Bucharest, Romania, she was the wife of the late
