Visitor will once again be able to climb to the top of the the Statue of Liberty as the landmark’s crown will reopen Sunday, October 28.
The Statue of Liberty’s opening day falls on its 126 birthday and follows a year of renovations, which have yet to be completed.
Though the crown is opening, visitors won’t be able to go inside the museum located in the monument’s pedestal until early 2013. They can visit the pedestal-observation level and a portion of the top of the star-shaped fort that serves as the base for the Statue of Liberty.
Tickets to visit the monument are only available through reservations by visiting www.statuecruises.com or by calling 201-604-2800.
