Station Project Shuts Weekend M Shuttle

Weekend M train shuttle service between Metropolitan Avenue-Middle Village and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway is scheduled to be suspended this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, due to construction work related to the MTA station renewal project. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service and make all stops.

Riders can transfer between the shuttle bus and the L train at Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues and the J train at Myrtle Avenue-Broadway.

The shuttle buses will stop at the M train stations as follows:

– Metropolitan Avenue-at the Q54 bus stop on Metropolitan Avenue at Rentar Plaza;

– Fresh Pond Road-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fresh Pond Road (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fresh Pond Road at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Forest Avenue-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fairview Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fairview Avenue at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Seneca Avenue-at B38 bus stops on Seneca Avenue at Palmetto Street;

– Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues-at the B13 bus stop on Gates Avenue at Wyckoff Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue- Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Palmetto Street and Myrtle Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Knickerbocker Avenue (closed at all times through 2013)-at B54 bus stops on Myrtle Avenue at Knickerbocker Avenue;

– Central Avenue-on Myrtle Avenue at Cedar Street (to Myrtle Avenue Broadway) or the B54 bus stop on Myrtle Avenue at DeKalb Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue); and

– Myrtle Avenue-Broadway-at the B46 bus stop on Broadway at Myrtle Avenue.

Service on the 7 line between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square- 42nd Street is scheduled to be suspended this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday night, Oct. 19, until 5 a.m. Monday morning, Oct. 22. This service change is also scheduled to be in effect the following weekend, Oct. 26- 29.

During this period, 7 trains will operate between Queensboro Plaza and Flushing-Main Street. It was noted that Q trains will be extended to theAstoria-Ditmars Boulevard station on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

For service between Queens and Manhattan, transfer to the N or Q trains at Queensboro Plaza or Times Square-42nd Street or the E train at Roosevelt Avenue or Times Square- 42nd Street.

Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service to 7 train stations in Long Island City between the Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard- Jackson Avenue stations. These buses will also stop at Queens Plaza for connections to the E and R trains.

The shuttle buses will stop as follows:

– Queensboro Plaza-on Queens Plaza South at 27th Street;

– Queens Plaza-on Jackson Avenue at Queens Plaza South;

– Court Square-23rd Street-on 44th Drive at 23rd Street (to Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue) or on 23rd Street at 44th Drive (to Queensboro Plaza);

– Hunters Point Avenue-on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and

– Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue- on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.

Subway Changes

The MTAhas scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Oct. 17. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Weekend Disruption On A Line In Rock.

There will be no service on the A line between Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park and Mott Avenue in Far Rockaway this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22. During this period, Atrains will operate between Lefferts Boulevard and 207th Street.

Additionally, the Rockaway Park Shuttle will not operate between Beach 90th Street and Broad Channel during this period. The shuttle will instead run on theAline between Beach 116th Street and Mott Avenue.

Shuttle buses will replace A train service between Rockaway Boulevard and Howard Beach, making stops at Aqueduct Racetrack and Aqueduct- North Conduit Avenue along the way. A separate set of shuttle buses will also operate between Rockaway Boulevard and Beach 116th Street, stopping at Broad Channel; another shuttle bus line will run nonstop between Rockaway Boulevard andMott Avenue.

Riders can transfer between the shuttle buses and the A train at either Rockaway Boulevard or Beach 116th Street or the shuttle train at Mott Avenue or Beach 116th Street.

Express Service On J Line In Brooklyn

Manhattan-bound J trains will run express service between Broadway Junction and Marcy Avenue this weekend, from 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. These trains will stop at Myrtle Avenue Broadway.

For service to the Chauncey Street, Halsey Street, Gates Avenue, Kosciuszko Street, Flushing Avenue, Lorimer Street and Hewes Street stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue Broadway, Marcy Avenue (for riders with unlimited MetroCards only) or Essex Street, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue or Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan bound J train.

Additionally, Jamaica Centerbound J trains will run express service between Myrtle Avenue- Broadway and Broadway Junction on Monday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. This service change will also be in effect during the same time periods between Oct. 29 and Nov. 2 and between Nov. 5 and Nov. 9.

For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway, then transfer to a Jamaica Center bound J train.

Some L Trains Run Short In Bushwick

Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues will be the last stop for select Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains on Monday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. This service change will also be in effect during the same time periods between Oct. 29 and Nov. 2 and between Nov. 5 and Nov. 9.

Riders can transfer between L trains at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip. It was noted that L trains running between Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues and Rockaway Parkway will operate every 12 minutes. Plan all trips accordingly.

Weekend Line Switch For F Trains To Man.

Manhattan-bound F trains will run on the M line between Roosevelt Avenue and 47th-50th Streets this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22.

As a result of this change, these F trains will run express service between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza and will not stop at 21st Street- Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and 57th Street.

For service to these stations, take the F train to 47th-50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from the 21st Street- Queensbridge and Roosevelt Island stations, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattanbound F train.

Knick. Ave M Stop Closed For Repairs

The KnickerbockerAvenue station on the M line is closed at all times until early 2013 as the MTA conducts repairs.

Riders are advised to use the nearby Central Avenue and Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues stations as alternates. The B54 bus provides connecting service between Knickerbocker Avenue and the two stations.

During overnight hours, shuttle buses will provide additional service along the B54 route between Myrtle- WyckoffAvenues andMyrtleAvenue- Broadway, stopping at the Knickerbocker Avenue and Central Avenue stations.
