MANHATTAN — Police arrested two men from Queens Saturday who allegedly fled from authorities in their car after robbing a group of men in Harlem, according to the NYPD
Derrick Coleman, of 41-15 Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City, Tyquan Grant of 106-50 159 Street in South Jamaica and a Manhattan man were each charged with robbery, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The NYPD said officers responded to a 911 call around 3:20 a.m. Oct 27 and were informed by the victims that they were robbed of their cell phones at gunpoint by suspects who fled in a blue Nissan Altima.
An officer several blocks away then saw a vehicle allegedly driving the wrong way on Lexington Avenue and attempted to stop the vehicle when one of the passengers pulled out a gun, police said.
An officer fired a shot that struck neither the suspects or the car, which took off on 115th Street eastbound until it collided with a Toyota Corola, according to the NYPD.
The suspects were arrested and the occupants of the Toyota were taken to the hospital and released with minor injuries, police said.
