It took firefighters almost five hours to control a four-alarm blaze at a Jamaica junkyard Monday.
Authorities first responded to the fire, located at 95-49 Tuckerton Street, near Liberty Avenue, around 9 a.m. By 11:45 a.m., more than 170 firefighters were battling the blaze, but about three hours later it was put out, said the FDNY.
One firefighter and two police officers received minor injuries.
