A man was struck and killed by a train at the Little Neck LIRR station this morning, according to authorities.
The man in his 70s, whose name has not been released, was struck by the train at approximately 10:20 a.m., according to the MTA, suspending service for 90 minutes.
A preliminary investigation by the MTA indicates the victim may have fallen into the side of the eastbound train as it passed through the station on the Port Washington branch of the LIRR. The crossing gates were working and in the down position as the train approached, the MTA said.
The investigation is ongoing.
