Boy, 11, Dies In Jackson Heights Accident
Law enforcement sources are investigating the death of a Jackson Heights boy just blocks away from his home last Friday, Dec. 28 in a fatal collision with a truck.
Officers from the 115th Precinct were summoned to Northern Boulevard and 80th Street at about 8:45 a.m. to find 11-year-old Miguel Torres, who lived several blocks away on 84th Street, injured.
The officers determined that a white dump truck traveling southbound on 80th Street was making a right turn to head west on Northern Boulevard when the truck’s rear wheels struck Torres. The truck then continued driving westbound.
Emergency medical services personnel pronounced Torres dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, according to police sources.
