HOWARD BEACH — A Far Rockaway man died Saturday after striking a tree near South Conduit and Linden boulevards in Howard Beach, police said.
Officers found 61-year-old Winston Joseph, of Grassmere Terrace and Mott Avenue, in a white Toyota Camry shortly after receiving a 911 call at 10:10 p.m., the NYPD said. EMS workers took Joseph to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The NYPD said Joseph was traveling eastbound on South Conduit Boulevard when he lost control of the car, police said. While the investigation is ongoing, police do not believe any other cars were involved in the accident and do not suspect criminality.
