Members of the John V. Daniels VFW Post 2813 in Woodside made a visit to the Queens Boulevard Extended Care Center to deliver sugar-free treats to veterans and other patients in celebration of the new year. They were greeted by Anthony Matesse, the center’s therapeutic director, who thanked them for their visit. Recreation therapists Felicia Buttler and Cheryl Gadsen escored the post members in meeting with patients. The delegation from Post 2813 included Post Commander Gerald Sisco, Quartermaster George Custance, Senior Vice Commander Michael Smith and his daughter Noel, and Trustee John Donnelly. The commander of the St. Sebastian’s Catholic War Veterans Post 870, Jerry Olt, also participated.
