Precinct Meeting To Focus On Train Line Crimes

Subway safety will be a main topic at the 112th Precinct Community Council’s next meeting on Wednesday night, Jan. 16, in Forest Hills.

As announced by Precinct Council President Heidi Harrison Chain, the session will take place beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the 112th Precinct stationhouse, located at the corner of Austin Street and Yellowstone Boulevard.

Capt. Michael Telfer, commanding officer of NYPD Transit District 20, will be the guest speaker and offer information about staying safe on subway trains in the area.

Additionally, Capt. Thomas Conforti, the 112th Precinct’s commanding officer, will be at the meeting to address community safety issues and answer questions from the public.

Refreshments will be served.

Chain also announced that Rep. Grace Meng is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the 112th Precinct Community Council’s Feb. 20 meeting. The council will also present at its Mar. 20 meeting a forum on preventing violence against women.
