BROOKLYN – A Brooklyn rabbi was charged with sending sexually explicit messages to a person he had met online and whom he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, the Queens District Attorney said.
According to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, 59-year-old Nathan David Rabinowich of Brooklyn was arrested after police said he went on a pre-arranged meeting in Queens to meet with an underage girl for sex, who in reality was an undercover New York Police Department detective.
Brown said a police detective operated undercover as a 14-year-old girl from Queens on Dec. 5, 2012 when Rabinowich instant messaged him with sexually graphic material. The exchanges went on through Feb. 12, Brown said,
If convicted, he could face up to four years in prison, Brown said.
