JOSEPH F.E. HIGGINS of Glendale died on Thursday, January 24, at
the age of 84. Born on March 6, 1928,
he was predeceased by his wife Elaine
Rose, who died on August 1, 2004.
Joseph lived on 71st Place in Glenadle
for the past 50 years and was the past
president of the Glendale Chamber of
Commerce. He is surivved by his five
children, Christopher, Jeanne, Andrew, Kathleen and Stephen, as well
as 17 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. A wake was held at
Glendale Walsh-LaBella and Son Funeral Home, 70-17 Cooper Ave.,
Glendale, followed by interment at
Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I. Donations may be made in
Joseph’s memory to the American

Village died on Thursday, January
31, at thea ge of 85. He was the
beloved husband of Dolores Pfeiffer

IVAN PINTO died on Monday, January 28, at the age of 75. He was the
beloved husband of Dennelda Pinto.
Services were offered on Friday,

Grodzki, loving father of Diane and

Grodzki, Lillian and Steve Chajekwicz and Ann Marie and Joey Felle,
cherished grandfather of Nicholas,
Roxanne, Stephanie, Brittany,
Rachael, Joseph, Lauren, Christopher and James and dear brother of
Helen Chilarski and brother-in-law
of Eddie Prokopiak, Philip Lupo and
Vinnie Benincasa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews

February 8, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church, Elmhurst, followed by
interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand

Wednesday, January 30, at the age of
87. She was the beloved wife of
Michael Pepe, loving mother of Alice
and Jay Wenz, Michael and Diane
Pepe, Joseph and Kim Pepe and
Nicholas and Pat Pepe, cherished
grandmother of Michelle, Erin,
Michael, Joseph, Michael, Nicholas,
Gregory, Nicole, Larissa and Alexandra and dear sister of Florence Levitsky. She was also a cherished aunt of

RICHARD ROM of Ridgewood
died on Tuesday, January 29, at the
age of 79. A native of Skrill,
Gottschee, Yugoslavia, he was the
beloved husband of Helen, devoted
father of Richard Rom, Ellen Manno,
Thomas Rom and Ingrid Stubenrauch
and dear brother of Anna Maurin and
Sophie Roethel. He is also survived
by six grandchildren. Rom was a
member of the Gottschee KUV, the
Gottscheer Bowling Club and Blau
Weiss Gottschee. A Mass of Christian

VALERO of Brooklyn died on Saturday, January 26, at thee age of 63.

eight grandchildren and was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. A Mass
