St. Francis Preparatory School’s Girls Volleyball Team was honored by the City Council last Wednesday, Mar. 27, at City Hall in lower Manhattan on the occasion of their sixth Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Championship title and their third consecutive placing in New York State as a finalist team. The team is lead by Coach Kevin Colucci and Assistant, Stephanie Horan. City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and City Council Members Peter F. Vallone Jr. and David Weprin welcomed the “Lady Terriers” and congratulated them for the their achievements, both athletic and academic. The team has an average of 94.7 percent. The lawmakers also provided them with a private guided tour of the history, art and architecture of the historic building along with an “insider’s view” of the inner workings of the City Council.
