The New York Mets have invited a few Amazin’ guests to Monday’s Opening Day festivities at Citi Field.
The team is slated to honor 500 first responders who helped out during Hurricane Sandy with a special pre-game tribute on the field.
The Mets also donated tickets to the first home game of the season against the San Diego Padres to 1,000 volunteers and residents who were impacted by the storm.
Emmy Rossum, a singer, actress and the star of Showtime’s “Shameless,” is slated to sing the National Athem and will be accompanied by 50 choir members of the Scholars’ Academy in Rockaway Park.
