Tire Vandals Turn Knives on Man In Richmond Hill

Slashed Him After Confrontation

Trying to stop a group of vandals as they were slashing the tires of a parked vehicle on a Richmond Hill block proved painful for a 22-year-old man who was attacked by the perpetrators for his trouble early on Monday morning, Mar. 25, according to police.

The victim was hospitalized for treatment of lacerations and stab wounds, none of which were considered life-threatening.

Law enforcement sources said the attack occurred at about 1:50 a.m. Monday in front of a home on 111th Street near 91st Avenue.

Police stated the victim spotted three individuals-one of whom was described as an Asian male believed to be 24 years of age, the other two described as black males believed to be 25 years old-cutting the tires of a vehicle belonging to his sister.

When the victim went out to confront the perpetrators, police said, they allegedly turned their knives on him, slashing and stabbing him across the chest and back multiple times.

Following the attack, the group of assailants were reportedly observed running northbound on 111th Street, then entering a silver vehicle which sped away from the location.

Members of the 102nd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.

No immediate arrests were made, and the case was presented to the 102nd Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.
