John F. Kennedy International Airport will host its annual 5K Run on the Runway Race April 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for $25 or $19 for students 18 and under.
Participants will run on the longest runway of JFK. Funds raised are put toward terminally ill children of foreign countries, helping provide life-saving heart operations at local hospitals, sponsoring scholarships and hosting annual Christmas parties for handicapped children.
Runners who sign up in advance will be given T-shirts, snacks and goodie bags.
Medals will be awarded to the top three winners and all participants will be entered in a special drawing for round-trip airplane tickets.
