Numerous homeowners came to the Woodhaven-Richmond Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps’ headquarters last Wednesday night, Mar. 27, to seek help in paying down outstanding debts to the city during a tax lien assistance event hosted by State Sen. Joseph Addabbo and Assemblyman Mike Miller. As shown, representatives of the city’s Department of Finance and Department of Environmental Protection consulted with residents on ways they could avoid having liens on their property sold to collection agencies later this spring. Among the solutions offered were billing programs, payment plans and water debt assistance.
