Songs from classic movies were among the featured acts performed by students at St. Pancras School during the Glendale institution’s variety show last Friday night, Apr. 19. In the top photo, pre-kindergarten students took the audience down the “Yellow Brick Road” by singing a number of tunes from The Wizard of Oz. The second photo shows kindergarteners who performed “I’ve Got No Strings” from the Disney classic Pinocchio. Third-graders are shown in the third photo providing a sweet version of “The Candyman” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In a fitting send-off to their retiring teacher, fifth-graders are pictured with their educator, Arlene Stiene, before taking the stage to sing “So Long, Farewell” from The Sound of Music. Another act from Oz is shown in the bottom right photo, as fourth-graders sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
