Four residents were injured after a one-alarm fire broke out inside a Richmond Hill building early last Friday morning, Mar. 29, it was reported. According to sources, the blaze ignited at about 1 a.m. inside a first-floor store at a building on Jamaica Avenue near 107th Street, then quickly extended to apartments above the location. Among the units that responded to the scene (listed in the order of their arrival) were Engine companies 294, 293 and 308; Squad companies 270 and 288; Ladder companies 143, 142, 151, 127 and 126, along with the 102nd Precinct and EMS units. The injured residents were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with injuries not considered to be life-threatening. Firefighters reportedly brought the blaze under control at about 1:50 a.m.
