An East Elmhurst teen was arrested and charged with attacking a 16-year-old girl with a brick in an alley in Astoria, police said Saturday.
Omar Khogali, 17, was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a statement sent by the NYPD.
Police said the girl and Khogali walked into an alleyway off 43rd Street between 23rd Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard around 11 p.m. Tuesday, when he allegedly assaulted her and ran off. The teen was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
Police said Saturday afternoon that there was no update in the girl’s condition and her relationship to the teen who was arrested was unknown.
