The Juniper Juniors, a part of the Juniper Park Civic Association (JPCA), held a roadside cleanup along Metropolitan Avenue and Fresh Pond Road on the Middle Village/Ridgewood border last Saturday, May 18. As part of their efforts, the volunteers painted over the graffiti-marred wall on the bridge above the Long Island Rail Road’s Montauk branch as well as a nearby vacant newsstand. They also removed weeds and trash from the site. Pictured among the group of volunteers are Robert Holden, JPCA president (fourth from left) and Len Santoro, JPCA executive member and Juniper Juniors moderator. Craig Caruana, a JPCA member and City Council candidate, also participated.
