Weekend M Shuttle Closed For Repairs

Weekend M train shuttle service will be suspended between Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway in Brooklyn from 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 20.

During this period, free shuttle buses will provide alternate service and stop near affected M train stations. Riders can transfer between the shuttle buses and the L train at Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues or the J train at Myrtle Avenue-Broadway.

The shuttle buses will stop at M train stations as follows:

– Metropolitan Avenue-at the Q54 bus stop on Metropolitan Avenue at Rentar Plaza;

– Fresh Pond Road-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fresh Pond Road (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fresh Pond Road at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Forest Avenue-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fairview Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fairview Avenue at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Seneca Avenue-at B38 bus stops on Seneca Avenue at Palmetto Streets;

– Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues-at the B13 bus stop on Gates Avenue at Wyckoff Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue- Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Palmetto Street at Myrtle Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Knickerbocker Avenue-at B54 bus stops on Myrtle Avenue at Knickerbocker Avenue;

– Central Avenue-on Myrtle Avenue at Cedar Street (to Myrtle Avenue Broadway) or the B54 bus stop on Myrtle Avenue at DeKalb Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue); and

– Myrtle Avenue-Broadway-at the B46 bus stop on Broadway at Myrtle Avenue.

Overnight Shutdown On 7 Line In L.I.C.

There will be no 7 train service between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street late night from 11:45 p.m. Monday, May 20, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 21. During this period, 7 trains will operate between Queensboro Plaza and Flushing-Main Street.

For service between Queens and Manhattan, take the N train at Queensboro Plaza or Times Square- 42nd Street; the E train at either 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue, Court Square-23rd Street or 42nd Street- Port Authority; or the F train at 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue or 42nd Street-Bryant Park.

Additionally, shuttle buses will replace

7 train service in Long Island City between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue. These buses will additionally stop at Queens Plaza for connections to the E train.

The shuttle buses will stop at the Long Island City 7 train stations as follows:

– Queensboro Plaza-on Queens Plaza South at 27th Street;

– Queens Plaza-on Jackson Avenue at Queens Plaza South;

– Court Square-23rd Street-on 44th Drive at 23rd Street (to Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue) or on 23rd Street at 44th Drive (to Queensboro Plaza);

– Hunters Point Avenue-on 21st Street and 49th Avenue; and

– Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue- on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.

Additional Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, May 15. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Work Shortens M Service Tonight

M train service will be suspended between 47th-50th Streets in Manhattan and 71st-Continental Avenues in Forest Hills late nights on Thursday, May 16, from 9:45 to 11:59 p.m. During this period, M trains will run between Metropolitan Avenue and 47th-50th Streets, then switch over to the F line to 57th Street.

As alternate service, E trains will stop at the Fifth Avenue-53rd Street, Lexington Avenue-53rd Street and Court Square 23rd Street stations. E and F trains will also operate local service during these late nights between Queens Plaza/21st Street- Queensbridge and 71st-Continental Avenues.

Riders can transfer between the M train and the E train at West Fourth Street and the F train at 57th Street.

Weekday Express On J Line In Bushwick

Jamaica Center-bound J trains will run express service between Myrtle Avenue-Broadway and Broadway Junction on Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, from 9:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. This service change will also be in effect this weekend from 3:45 a.m. Saturday, May 18, until 10 p.m. Monday, May 19.

For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway, then transfer to a Jamaica Center bound J train.

Some L Trains Are Shortened In Bklyn.

Alternate Canarsie-bound L trains will make their last stop at Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues on Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Riders can transfer between L trains at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip.

It was noted that L trains will operate every 12 minutes between Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues and Rockaway Parkway. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Stops Skipped Late Nights On E, F Lines

Jamaica Center-bound E trains and Jamaica-bound F trains will skip the 75th Avenue and Van Wyck Boulevard stations late nights on Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, from 9:45 p.m. until 5 a.m. During this period, Jamaica-bound F trains will also skip Sutphin Boulevard.

For service to these stations, take the E train to Union Turnpike or Jamaica Van Wyck-or the F train to Union Turnpike or Parsons Boulevard- then transfer to a Manhattanbound E or F train. For service from these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaicabound F train.

Late Night Express On E & R Trains

Jamaica-bound E trains and Forest Hills-bound R trains will run express service between Queens Plaza and 71st-Continental Avenues on Friday, May 17, from 12:01 until 5 a.m.

For service to the 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Boulevard, 65th Street, Elmhurst Avenue, Grand Avenue, Woodhaven Boulevard, 63rd Drive and 67th Avenue stations, take the R train to Roosevelt Avenue or 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Manhattan bound R train. For service from these stations, take the R train to Roosevelt Avenue or Queens Plaza, then transfer to a Forest Hills-bound R train.

Switch Of Lines On E, F This Weekend

Manhattan-bound E trains will run on the F line between Queens and Manhattan this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 20. This will also be in effect on Tuesday, May 21, through Friday, May 24, from 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

During this service change, Manhattan bound E trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and Second Avenue in Manhattan, which will be the last stop. Jamaica Center-bound E trains will originate from Second Avenue and run on the F line to West Fourth Street, then resume regular service.

As a result of this service change, there will be no Manhattan-bound E train service at the Queens Plaza, Court Square-23rd Street, Lexington Avenue-53rd Street, Fifth Avenue- 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue stations.

For service to Queens Plaza or Court Square-23rd Street, transfer to the 7 train at Roosevelt Avenue. For service from these stations, use the 7 train at the nearby Queensboro Plaza station to connect to the E train at either Roosevelt Avenue in Queens or Times Square-42nd Street in Manhattan.

Additionally, Jamaica-bound F trains will run on the E line between 47th-50th Streets in Manhattan and Roosevelt Avenue in Queens this weekend, from 9:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

As a result of this service change, Jamaica-bound F trains will not stop at the 57th Street, Lexington Avenue- 53rd Street, Roosevelt Island and 21st Street-Queensbridge stations.

For service to Roosevelt Island or 21st Street-Queensbridge, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the F train to 47th-50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train.

Train Work Hits

N Line In Astoria

Manhattan-bound N trains will skip the 30th Avenue, Broadway, 36th Avenue and 39th Avenue stations on Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, from 10:15 a.m. until 3 p.m. During this service change, Q trains will not operate between 57th Street and Ditmars Boulevard.

For service to these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train. For service from these stations, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound N train.

Additionally, Astoria-bound N trains will skip the 39th Avenue, 36th Avenue, Broadway and 30th Avenue stations this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 20.

For service to these stations, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound N train. For service from these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train.

Central Ave. Station Closed For Repairs

The Central Avenue station on the M line in Bushwick remains shut through late August as the MTA conducts renovations as part of its “station renewal” program.

Riders are advised to use the Myrtle

Avenue-Broadway or Knickerbocker Avenue stops on the M line, the Kosciuszko Street stop on the J line or the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues station on the L and M lines as alternates.

Additionally, the B54 bus provides connecting service between Central Avenue and the Myrtle Avenue, Knickerbocker Avenue and Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues stations. During overnight hours, shuttle buses will be provided between these stations.

Sandy-Related Svc. Changes Remain

Until further notice, there is no service on the A line south of the Howard Beach station to the Rockaways and on the Rockaway Park Shuttle.

Riders can use a free shuttle bus between Howard Beach and Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue. There is also a free H train shuttle operating between Far Rockaway and Beach 90th Street. Stations west of Beach 90th Street remain closed.

The H train operates on weekdays from 4:55 a.m. to 9:25 p.m. and on weekends from 4:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. The change in times is in order to accommodate ongoing work along the line to restore full service in the Rockaways.

However, this weekend, the H train shuttle will be suspended from 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, until 4:45 a.m. Monday, May 20. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service and make all stops between Mott Avenue and Beach 116th Street.

For service between Beach 90th Street and Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Streets, transfer to the Q22 bus line, which makes nearby stops.

The MTA has expanded service on the Q52 limited line between Elmhurst and the Rockaways in order to increase rush-hour access to the A train in Ozone Park.

Reportedly, service time has been doubled during peak rush hours on the Q52, which terminates in the Arverne section of the Rockaways. Q52 buses will run ever six minutes during peak rush hours and every 7 1/2 minutes during non-rush hour periods on weekdays.

The Q52 primarily runs on Woodhaven and Cross Bay boulevards and stops at Liberty Avenue, close to the Rockaway Boulevard A train station.
