Weekend J Train Shut Down In Qns.

J train service will be suspended between Crescent Street and Jamaica Center this weekend, from 5:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, until 10 p.m. Sunday, June 2. During this period, J trains will operate between Crescent Street in Brooklyn and Chambers Street in Manhattan.

Shuttle buses will replace J train service between Crescent Street and 121st Street. These buses will also stop at the Jamaica-Van Wyck subway station for connection to the E train, which will make J train stops to Jamaica Center.

The shuttle buses will stop at J train stations as follows:

– Crescent Street-on Fulton Street at Crescent Street;

– Cypress Hills-at the B13 bus stop on Jamaica Avenue at Hemlock Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or on Crescent Street at Jamaica Avenue (to Crescent Street station);

– 75th Street-Elderts Lane-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 75th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or at Dexter Court (to Crescent Street);

– 85th Street-Forest Parkway-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 85th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or 86th Street (to Crescent Street);

– Woodhaven Boulevard-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard;

– 104th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 104th Street;

– 111th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 111th Street;

– 121st Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 121st Street; and

– Jamaica-Van Wyck-on the Van Wyck Expressway service road at 89th Avenue.

‘Fastrack’ Repairs To Disrupt E/F/M/R Lines

The MTA’s “Fastrack” maintenance program will lead to service disruptions on the E, F, M and R lines late nights on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

During this period, E train service will be suspended between Roosevelt Avenue and World Trade Center. E trains will operate between Roosevelt Avenue and Jamaica Center and make all local stops.

Additionally, F train service will be shut down between Roosevelt Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge. F trains will operate in two sections: between Roosevelt Avenue and 179th Street-Jamaica and between 21st Street-Queensbridge and Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn.

Furthermore, M train service between Myrtle Avenue-Broadway and 71st-Continental Avenues in Forest Hills will end early on Monday through Thursday. The last Forest Hills/Manhattan-bound M train will depart Metropolitan Avenue at 8:11 p.m. (and from Myrtle Avenue-Broadway at 8:23 p.m.) and the last Middle Village-bound M train will depart 71st-Continental Avenues at 8:15 p.m.

The M train will then revert to its late-night shuttle service between Myrtle Avenue-Broadway and Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village.

R train service between 36th Street in Brooklyn and 71st-Continental Avenues will also end early on Monday through Thursday nights. The last Forest Hills-bound R train will depart Bay Ridge-95th Street at 9:05 p.m., and the last Manhattan/Bay Ridgebound R train will depart 71st-Continental Avenues at 9:14 p.m.

For service between Queens and Manhattan, transfer to the 7 train at either Roosevelt Avenue in Queens or 42nd Street-Bryant Park, Times Square-42nd Street or 34th Street- Herald Square in Manhattan.

Shuttle buses, meanwhile, will replace subway service between Roosevelt Avenue and Queensboro Plaza, making stops at 65th Street, Northern Boulevard, 46th Street, Steinway Street, 36th Street and Queens Plaza.

Subway Svc. Returns To The Rockaways

Service on the A line south of the Howard Beach station to the Rockaways and on the Rockaway Park Shuttle is being officially restored today, Thursday, May 30, after the MTA completed repairs to infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Sandy last October.

A trains will once again run to Mott Avenue-Far Rockaway and to Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street during overnight hours, and the Rockaway Park Shuttle will resume service between Rockaway Park and Broad Channel.

The restoration of A train and Rockaway Park Shuttle service spells the end of the H train, the intra-Rockaway shuttle between Beach 90th Street and Far Rockaway, which was introduced by the MTA following Sandy as a travel alternative on the peninsula while A train service was out of commission.

Additional Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, May 29. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Weekday Express On J, M Lines In Bklyn.

Jamaica Center-bound J trains will operate express service between Myrtle Avenue and Broadway Junction on Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31, from 9:45 a.m. until 3 p.m.

For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound J train.

Additionally, Jamaica Centerbound J trains will operate express service between Marcy Avenue and Broadway Junction on Wednesday, June 5, through Friday, June 7, from 9:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. This service change will also be in effect the following week from Wednesday, June 12, through Friday, June 14.

During these periods, Jamaica Center-bound J trains will continue to stop at Myrtle Avenue-Broadway. Middle Village-bound M trains will also operate express service between Marcy Avenue and Myrtle Avenue- Broadway.

For service to the Hewes Street, Lorimer Street or Flushing Avenue stations, take the J or M train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan bound J or M train. For service from these stations, take the J or M train to Marcy Avenue (for riders with unlimited MetroCards only) or Essex Street, then transfer to a Jamaica Center bound J train or a Middle Villagebound M train.

For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway, then transfer to a Jamaica Center bound J train.

7 Line Skips Stops Weekdays & Weekend

Flushing-bound 7 trains will skip the 33rd Street, 40th Street, 46th Street, 52nd Street and 69th Street stations on Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31, from 10:15 a.m. until 3 p.m.

For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Woodside-61st Street or 74th Street, then transfer to a Manhattan bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Woodside-61st Street or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushingbound 7 train.

Additionally, Flushing-bound 7 trains will run express service between Queensboro Plaza and Mets- Willets Point this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 31, until 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2. During this period, Flushing-bound 7 trains will stop at Woodside-61st Street and Junction Boulevard.

For service to the 33rd Street, 40th Street, 46th Street, 52nd Street, 69th Street, 74th Street, 82nd Street, 90th Street, 103rd Street and 111th Street stations, take the 7 train to Woodside- 61st Street, Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard, Woodside-61st Street or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.

Some L Trains Are Shortened In Bklyn.

Alternate Canarsie-bound L trains will make their last stop at Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, June 21. Riders can transfer between L trains at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip.

It was noted that L trains will operate every 12 minutes between Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues and Rockaway Parkway. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Switch Of Lines On E, F Nights, Weekends

Manhattan-bound E trains will run on the F line between Queens and Manhattan on Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31, from 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

During this service change, Manhattan bound E trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and Second Avenue in Manhattan, which will be the last stop. Jamaica Center-bound E trains will originate from Second Avenue and run on the F line to West Fourth Street, then resume regular service.

As a result of this service change, there will be no Manhattan-bound E train service at the Queens Plaza, Court Square-23rd Street, Lexington Avenue-53rd Street, Fifth Avenue- 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue stations.

For service to Queens Plaza or Court Square-23rd Street, transfer to the 7 train at Roosevelt Avenue. For service from these stations, use the 7 train at the nearby Queensboro Plaza station to connect to the E train at either Roosevelt Avenue in Queens or Times Square-42nd Street in Manhattan.

Additionally, Jamaica-bound F trains will run on the E line between 47th-50th Streets in Manhattan and Roosevelt Avenue in Queens this weekend, from 9:45 p.m. Friday, May 31, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 3.

As a result of this service change, Jamaica-bound F trains will not stop at the 57th Street, Lexington Avenue- 53rd Street, Roosevelt Island and 21st Street-Queensbridge stations.

For service to Roosevelt Island or 21st Street-Queensbridge, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the F train to 47th-50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train.

Skip N Train Stops Weekend, Weekdays

Astoria-bound N trains will skip

the 39th Avenue, 36th Avenue, Broadway and 30th Avenue stations this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 31, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 3. This service change will also be in effect on Tuesday, June 4, through Friday, June 7, from 10:15 a.m. until 3 p.m. During the weekday period, there will be no Q train service between 57th Street in Manhattan and Ditmars Boulevard. For service to these stations, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound N train. For service from these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train.

Central Ave. Station Closed For Repairs

The Central Avenue station on the M line in Bushwick remains closed through late August as the MTA conducts renovations as part of its “station renewal” program.

Riders are advised to use the Myrtle Avenue-Broadway or Knickerbocker Avenue stops on the M line, the Kosciuszko Street stop on the J line or the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues station on the L and M lines as alternates.

Additionally, the B54 bus provides connecting service between Central Avenue and the Myrtle Avenue, Knickerbocker Avenue and Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues stations. During overnight hours, shuttle buses will be provided between these stations.
