Verbal Maspeth Bandit Still at Large

Police have released a surveillance camera image of the suspect who used only a verbal demand to swipe cash from a Maspeth bank during a heist earlier this month. As previously reported, the caper took place on May 4 at 12:15 p.m. at the Amalgamated bank located at 69-73 Grand Ave. The suspect-described by police as a Hispanic male between 40 and 50 years of age, standing 5’6″-tall, weighing 250 lbs with scruffy facial hair and was seen wearing sunglasses, a black jacket, black pants, a baseball cap and latex gloves-verbally demanded and subsequently received an unknown amount of cash from a teller. The incident was reported to the 104th Precinct; there were no injuries.
